Well Said Sundays, A Quote to Note IV (This week, a poem)

IN THE BEGINNING

Now, in our perfect hour,
While the green stem supports the weightless flower,
Before the rains, before the blurring mist,
Disturb the globe of silence where we kissed,
Let us be calm and tranquil in its power.

There may be love
As daily and enduring as a glove:
This may be granted when perfection fades,
But never the silken magic that pervades
This first fine tapestry our fingers wove.

Your beauty lifts my heart
To a dimension where time has no part.
It must come down, I know: we take our places
Among the normal names and normal faces:
But not in these first hours, not from the start.

This equilibrium,
Most rare and perilous balance, leaves me dumb
To say it all, to name the gems and metals
(flame of a butterfly before it settles)
before the troubles and the questionings come.

Before our ship is tested,
Before we sail where seas are cold and crested,
For this one hour let lust be pure as laughter:
Let our love breathe without before and after,
Soft as the hollow where a bird has rested.

A Caravan for You

Same size as my apartment!

Rust

Mint Chocolate, yum!

When one's own possession becomes rusty, the romance of what has happened may be as lost as the original function of the object.

But when one looks at rust solely in terms of color and texture, it is
 beautiful.

I love the purple tones in this one.

What a lovely mix of oranges this one has! I would've never thought to put them together, but I love the combination.

A Moment for Tackiness III

Magical!

There is nothing inherently tacky about crystals, its just that they are often used in tacky ways, and images of them can evoke feelings similar to those induced by Lisa Frank.

Diamonds in the rough.

In someways, there is something more appealing about the uncut stones. They are probably more satisfying to play with and their natural geometry in contrast with their imperfections is stunning; reminds me of some of my favorite people. I love a heavy handed, gem-based, metaphor, don't you?

Rainy Day

Another rainy day here in New York. As much as I absolutely loathe umbrella traffic, I do find umbrellas rather pretty to look at.

I would much rather be using an umbrella for this sort of a purpose...

Or sipping on a drink with one of these in it.

After a storm, the streets are always littered with everybodys abandonned brollies. New York especially seems to the capital of low quality, almost single use umbrellas.

I had a mobile exactly like this one when I was a little tot, now I miss it! I may have to recreate it with paper mache!

I hope the sun returns to these parts, sooner rather than later!

Eros

How sweet and pretty these images are, especially when compared to the tripe which we have such an overwhleming abundance of these days.

Wedding night?

So feminine and elegant.

Just looking for my cellphone...
