Trolley Chic

Have these gals ever heard of fresh direct?  Personally I am a bigger fan of Kate's look  than Michelle's in this  category. Women should not own baseball hats.

I guess I need to cultivate more of a signature look when I am at the grocery store. Not because of  paparazzi (obviously), but because ex-boyfreinds and people from their camp can be lurking anywhere, you just NEVER KNOW WHEN THEY WILL POP 'ROUND THE CEREAL AISLE PEOPLE!  Trust me, the last thing you want is to be caught looking like a broken umbrella buying a mini-bottle of wine, alone. Well Said Sundays; A Quote to Note XVI

Well Said Sundays; A Quote to Note XV

 Lurv, wov, rov, LOVE

"'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. "
Alfred Lord Tennyson
(That is an obvious choice for a love quote, but I wanted to remind everyone, including myself, who said it!)

"A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous. "
Ingrid Bergman

"How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being. "
Oscar Wilde

"Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives. "
C. S. Lewis

"It's not beauty but fine qualities, my girl, that keep a husband. "
Euripides

"They dream in courtship, but in wedlock wake. "
Alexander Pope

" Loving is not just looking at each other, it's looking in the same direction. "
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

"Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold".
Zelda Fitzgerald

Pearl Divers

As a compliment to my new found love of fishermen, I am also going to start spending more time thinking about pearl divers. You are probably thinking "duh!", but truthfully I  haven't thought about pearl divers in at least 7 months, so this is just a reminder to get it back in to the rotation.

Amazing

I didn't realize these spunky shorts were part of the uniform, and that it's a job where you can be topless! Where do I sign up?

Spiderinas

I think my Mamma might like this.

Well Said Sundays; A Quote to Note XIV

Jane Austen

"A large income is the best recipe for happiness I ever heard of."

"A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment.

"How quick come the reasons for approving what we like! "

"Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love."

"I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them a great deal."

"I have been a selfish being all my life, in practice, though not in principle."

Smiling in Bed

If you look for pictures of beds, it is amazing how incredibly happy all of the people in bed appear to be
.

These women are just so so happy to be asleep!

"haha! we're in bed! Its so wonderful, all we can do is laugh!"

This one spells it out! "the happiest people are those who stay in bed"
I didn't know this; I always suspected it, but I wasn't certain.

Stretching in bed is so fun!

I recently started reading a book that discusses being proactive in life and how to get what you want etc, and that seems to be in stark contrast to what I'm learning from all these pictures. The message I'm really picking up is that I should run  immediately home and get into bed, and then I would really have something to smile about.

We are having wonderful sleeping weather at the moment.

This feels a little more honest and is probably closer to what I will do at the end of the day.

Fall Thoughts

It certainly is sad when Summer ends, but I do have a fondness for fall. There is a sense of excitement that I always feel around this time; perhaps it is left over from childhood, and the mix of trepidation and enthusiasm about the start of the new school year. There is also the joy of the switch from the dampness of summer to the crispness of autumn, the changing of the leaves, that sharp smell of distant burning filling your nostrils, the mysteriousness of the long nights. Everything seems more sharply defined in September and October, even the moon seems to change, from being in soft focus to a perfect and freshly carved disc. It is as though, in the fall we put our glasses back on and really start to see the edges of things again. There are Halloween costumes to dream-up, and MY BIRTHDAY to think about, pumpkins to carve, and caramel apples to eat. There was a time when fall meant corduroys and clogs, new pens and pencils, maybe a rad new backpack, one week of organization and color coordinated post-it notes. Now it means switching from a glass of white to a glass of red, fashion week, tights, and sleeping fully tucked away under the covers.
