Summer Thoughts

I have been thinking about summers as a child; tie dye, friendship bracelets, playing in the woods, popsicles, strawberry stains, looking at my mothers toes pressed against the windshield while my father drove us all to the beach, hot asphalt, sprinklers, carnival lights and prizes, plastic Hawaiian leis, not making any new friends at summer camp and iced tea. I have also been thinking about summers now; hot New York City days, and sleepless nights, margaritas, rooftops, beach adventures with my boyfriend, dewy skin and dirty, wavy hair.
