Best of Sexy Ladies

Sexy Ladies have been around for a long time, forever in fact, but some are just better than others. Every era has a couple of iconic women, the women who embody the beauty ideals of the time, the sexpots in other words, but the best of this kind of lady are the ones who are more than that.

Theda Bara: The Original Vamp

Silent film star, a silent siren...

She was known for her femme fatale roles; these earned her the title of "the vamp" which was short for vampire, and eventually became the slang word which we still use today.

Love those spooky nails. I'm going to bring this picture in to the salon for replication the next time I get my nails did.

How Trashy!

Love this!
Just read a short little article in the New York Times about this guy who branded his trashcans because they kept getting stolen. Apparently it is an effective system.

]-Xmas Music X-[

The holidays can be hard. How bloody boring is that ? Usually a statement made by people for whom the holidays are not remotely difficult. You know what is hard? Listening to bad Christmas music. On loop! I like good Christmas music (in moderation) as much as the next guy, but boy can it go wrong.

This Nine Inch Nails song feels like a good antidote to 8.5 hours of incessant,  maudlin or overly cheery auditory assault .

Approved Christmas Music: Elvis, Beachboys, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Kings College Choir, Kate & Anna McGarrigle and of course, Wham!

Busby Berkley

I have always been a huge Busby Berkley fan, and I thought these clips could be good inspiration for the right kind of weekend.

Goose Army

My girlfriend just sent me this saying it made her think of me and our other childhood pal. I don't know what is more strange, that this made her think of me or that I was flattered? Thanks Berrie!

Girlfriends are the absolute greatest thing in the world!

This is neither new information, nor a new concept. Girlfriends are as old as time.

I love mine so very much.

They make life livable, and a lot less dull to boot.

Tea Time + Time to Set the Facts Straight.

I am a huge fan of tea, I like to drink it, and I especially like it when it involves pastries, or even just a piece (or 10) or toast.

It can be so enjoyable with a good friend

Or perhaps, a lover!

Definitely, toute seule.

The Thompson Twins obviously agree with me.

And so should you.

I often feel ill after tea, but not int the same way as I imagine these people do,  usually just from eating too much.

And now I must do my due diligence, and help spread the truth, spread it like marmite on toast, or jam or even butter.. I am sick and tired of hearing people use the term "high tea" thinking that it means a formal tea with lots of sweets and delicacies. That is simple NOT the meaning. "High Tea" is a term that originates from the fact that high tea is served on chairs of a table height, and eaten at the kitchen or dining room table, it is never sweets, it would actually be tea with something savory and hearty. It originates from the meals that men of the working class would eat after a day's hard labor.  "Low Tea" would be served in a parlor on parlor chairs which are shorter in height, and this is what people think they are talking about. How about instead of getting confused we just invite friends to a "Formal  Afternoon Tea". Or if it's in the morning, how about "Elevenses", I mean if it must be pretentious, why not go all out and actually get the facts straight. Sound doable? The next time someone asks me to a "high tea" (which will probably be never because I am obviously too uptight and petty) I will bring meatloaf and beans. I suggest you do the same.

Just A Bunch Of Hot Air

I love this, the material looks aquatic some how..

I simply must go on a hot air balloon!

They are just magic!

The truth is, I am somewhat afraid of heights, not in a totally neurotic way but they aren't my favorite. This could be a good "face your fears" activity for me. The romance is just undeniable, so I could probably trick myself into it.

Certainly if I'd be given a glass of champagne, to calm the nerves.

I would like to see the aurora borealis in person before I pop my clogs.
I want to be face to face with her.
Pictures just aren't cutting it anymore.

Dating Mating Dance

No one i've ever dated has put this much effort into impressing me. Or if they have, it hasn't come across nearly so well. What's the deal?

Look at these beautiful sweet men carefully decorating their homes. Unfortunately the plastic fork and bottle caps on the floor do remind me of various beaus, but that debris  was never intentional and certainly never color-coordinated.

"Do you like it? I know you like blue! I really hope you like it! Do you??? Do you?? Golly gee, you're so pretty in your boring grey dress. I love you! Do you love me?"

Something about the effort put in by these boys is just absolutely heartbreaking.

Tres chic! Love me some blue suede shoes.

"Listen, Paul, that's great, but I'm just not interested."

Dear Mr. Weatherman,

What the deal, Mr. Weatherman? It's October...Are you mad at the world, or just confused? Why is it snowing?

Of course, we all remember, clear as day, the blizzard of '78, the above image is from then. Well  actually, at the time, I wasn't "even a twinkle in the eye" as my mother would say, but I definitely remember my parents often referencing it.  Brrrrrrr
I think I only want to date people who were alive for that blizzard. Just something I've been toying with, not certain it will be a steadfast rule.

Yuck. Hopefully this little display from the gods, or whatever, will melt and it will be summer again tomorrow!

I want to do a drawing of an old mad slumping around with an unmbrella in the snow...That is how I feel today. Like an old codger bumbling around, huffing and puffing.

Boil water.

Select a cozy tea, such as Sleepytime, Roastaroma, or something along those lines. Steep.

Add milk, to taste.

Add honey to taste.

Add whiskey....Feel better.
